Day 1: Arrival in Iceland – Welcome to Reykjavík
Upon landing at Keflavík International Airport, make your way to your accommodation in Reykjavík.
Day 2: Journey to Akureyri – Exploring North Iceland’s Charm
We begin our scenic drive northwards to Skagafjörður Fjord, an area renowned as the heartland of the Icelandic horse. Along the way, we visit Glaumbær Museum, a traditional turf farmhouse before arriving in Akureyri. In the evening, you may choose to unwind with an optional visit to the Forest Lagoon.
Day 3: Lake Mývatn – Volcanic Wonders and Waterfalls
Today, we explore the fascinating volcanic landscapes around Lake Mývatn, a shallow lake renowned for its rich birdlife and geothermal activity. We stop at Goðafoss waterfall, Dimmuborgir lava formations, pseudocraters of Skútustaðagígar, and Grjótagjá Cave before heading to the steaming geothermal fields of Námaskarð. En route to East Iceland, we stop at the mighty Dettifoss Waterfall, considered one of Europe’s most powerful waterfalls.
Day 4: The East Fjords – Scenic Villages and Wild Reindeer
From Egilsstaðir, we embark on a stunning drive through the East Fjords, a region of narrow fjords, steep mountainsides, and picturesque fishing villages untouched by mass tourism. In the afternoon, there is an optional Glacier Jeep Adventure on Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier.
Day 5: Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach & The South Coast
Today’s adventure takes us along Iceland’s breathtaking southeast coastline. We begin with a visit to the spectacular Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where we join an amphibian boat tour among floating icebergs. Nearby, the famous Diamond Beach glistens with washed-up icebergs. We then visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls.
Day 6: The Golden Circle & Optional Blue Lagoon Experience
On this day we travel around the Golden Circle. We visit Gullfoss, a majestic two-tiered waterfall, the Geysir Geothermal Area, and Þingvellir National Park where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart. From Þingvellir, we return to Reykjavík for our final night. In the afternoon, guests may choose an optional excursion to the Blue Lagoon.
Day 7: Farewell Iceland – Departure Day
