Experience Hamburg: A journey through time from Town Hall to Elbe Philharmonic

Join us on a discovery tour through Hamburg's Old Town that brings history to life!
We start right at the entrance to the Town Hall on the Rathausmarkt.

From there, we will enter the magnificent Town Hall hall and admire the Chamber of Commerce, home to Germany's oldest active stock exchange, dating back to 1558.

Walking between proud office buildings, we make our way to the St. Nikolai Memorial, a moving testament to the city's history.
A real highlight is the picturesque Deichstraße: Here, you can experience a journey through time spanning 500 years of Hanseatic architecture in the city's oldest merchant street.

After a detour to the Speicherstadt (UNESCO World Heritage), where the aroma of tea and coffee lingers in the air, we will reach the modern HafenCity.

We will celebrate our grand finale at the new landmark, the Elbphilharmonie. Hamburg in a nutshell – authentic and with a lot of heart!

  • Know Before You Go: You will recognize your guide by their BestHamburgTours ID. The meeting point is the entrance portal of the Hamburg Rathaus (1 Rathausmarkt, 20095 Hamburg). Please allow about 2 hours for the approximately 2.5 km (1.5 mile) long route – good physical fitness for walking is required.

  • Know Before You Go: Since we truly do run tours in all of Hamburg's typical gloomy weather, we recommend wearing weatherproof clothing. The tour will take place with 2 or more participants. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will inform you at least 24 hours in advance and offer you an alternate date or a refund. For smaller groups, we are also happy to conduct the tour in a charming bilingual manner (German/English).
