Our first stop will be at the Corinth Canal (Isthmus of Corinth). The Isthmus of Corinth is the narrow land bridge which connects the Peloponnese peninsula with the rest of the mainland of Greece, near the city of Corinth. There is a coffeeshop, in case you need something extra to drink. From there, we'll head to the Ancient Corinth. Corinth was a city-state (polis) on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. Next stop will be the Akrocorinth with its majestic castle. The acropolis of Ancient Corinth, is a monolithic rock that oversees the ancient city. Then, we'll do a little trip to Loutraki area to visit the Moni of Osios Patapios and its breathtaking view. Patapios of Thebes is the patron saint of dropsy. Saint Patapios is well known for the miracles that he did in the past and still does nowadays, which are recorded with full details in the historical archives of the monastery which maintains a large library. Last but not least, we'll visit the Temple of Goddess Hera (aka Heraion). The Heraion of Perachora is a sanctuary of the goddess Hera situated in a small cove of the Corinthian gulf at the end of the Perachora peninsula. After that, we'll return back to Athens.
