Crete: Knossos, Zeus Cave, Traditional village, Olive Farm｜Greece

Step back 4,000 years as we begin the day at the Palace of Knossos. As you walk through the restored frescoes and the Throne Room, your guide will peel back the layers of the Minoan Empire—the first advanced civilisation in Europe.

From the lowlands, we climb toward the Lassithi Plateau, passing through rugged landscapes and traditional mountain passes. We’ll stop at the village of Krasi, a place of natural beauty where you can breathe in the mountain air and see one of the oldest and largest trees in the Mediterranean.

Next, we reach the foot of Mount Dikti. A short hike (or a fun donkey ride) brings you to the entrance of Dicteon Cave (Zeus Cave). Inside, you’ll find an underworld of dramatic stalactites and stalagmites surrounding the lake where legend says the father of the gods was born.

To round out your Cretan experience, we visit a traditional olive farm. You’ll learn the ancient and modern techniques of olive oil production and enjoy a tasting of local products, including honey and raki. Throughout the day, you’ll have the chance to enjoy an authentic lunch at a family-run taverna, where the ingredients are grown just steps from your table.
