Product Info

We will take the motorway and after 1h30m we shall be at Tossa de Mar, considered “the pearl of Costa Brava” because in this small area we can find all those landscape and historic elements which have given it such well-deserved fame.

Its spectacular sceneries, from its shores, beaches, caves in the cliffs to its lush vegetation, turn it into one of the locations that has better preserved its natural environment in perfect harmony with the tourism industry.

History has lefts its mark, especially in the impressive fortified enclosure of the “Vila Vella” (“Old Town”), which was declared a national artistic monument in 1931; its towers and walls have become the emblem of the municipality.

Outside its walls, we can find the traditional fishing neighborhood, known as Sa Roqueta, which still maintains the sailor atmosphere of these typical villages on Costa Brava.

Once we arrive in Tossa de Mar, for those who wish, and already included in the tour price, we will begin a walking tour lasting about 45 minutes from the beach, following the fortified perimeter up to the lighthouse on the top. Over there, you will appreciate stunning views from the coastline. When descending, we will go through the narrow streets and stony houses of Vila Vella until we get to the fishing district. From there on, you will have free time.

If we wish to enjoy a full day at the beach, every day at Tossa de Mar is absolutely amazing. In addition to its clean and crystalline waters surrounded by nature and historical monuments, the town features the appropriate services to ensure a pleasant and fun stay: from the rental of sunbeds and umbrellas to a wide range of water activities.

There are 3 Tossa Beaches integrated in its urban city centre:

The big beach called “La Playa grande” has the most central and extensive location in the municipality; it was classified as one of the 25 most beautiful beaches in the world by the National Geographic magazine in 2013 and it frequently tops the ranking of the most photographed beaches in Spain in Instagram.

The beach called “La Playa de la Mar Menuda”, a little further away, provides hourly rental services for Kayaks, Paddle Surfing as well as the option to go Snorkeling. It is a shallower beach with calmer waters.

The beach called “La Playa d´es Codolar”, which is close to the Old Town, is undoubtedly the best representation of Costa Brava’s typical “cala” (a small beach cove that is nestled between cliffs).

When it is time for lunch, Tossa de Mar is the Costa Brava town that features the most varied and rich cuisines at its fine restaurants. In the comfortable setting of a local restaurant, on a wonderful terrace facing the sea or at a charming spot in the fishermen’s neighbourhood or in the Old Town; you may choose a wide variety of delicious dishes made with local products based on the best recipes of the Mediterranean cuisine which are typical in this area.

You cannot leave Tossa de Mar without walking around the small and attractive shops on its typical streets.

At 4:00pm the tour will be finished, and we will go back to Barcelona by bus where we will arrive at about 5:30pm.
