Product Info

  • Did you know that Japan is known as a country of longevity, and one of the keys to this is fermented food? Among these, miso, in particular, contributes greatly to the health of the Japanese people! Handmade miso is truly exceptional. Why not learn how to make healthy, delicious, and fun miso while visiting Japan? We will carefully teach you the tips for making it easily at home. Making miso is a skill for life! You can take home about 500g of the miso you made during the class. Beyond just the recipe, you will learn about koji, the foundation of miso, as well as the history and health benefits of miso, and the differences in miso across various Japanese regions, accompanied by a tasting of three distinct types of miso. Furthermore, after making the miso, refresh yourself with an amazake yogurt dessert. Amazake is a sweet drink made from rice koji, allowing you to experience the wonders of fermented foods. This is a class where you can learn about Japan in a delicious and profound way. No prior experience or knowledge of miso making is required. Let's have fun preparing it together! Miso making is available for a limited time from October to May, so don't miss out! Notes: - Due to customs regulations, you may not be able to bring handmade miso back to your home country. We recommend checking local import regulations in advance. The miso you make will be sealed to ensure safe transport. ‐The miso made in the class needs to ferment at home for about 6 months. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions during these 6 months. - Please let us know when booking if you would like a vegan version. We will provide soy milk yogurt. - Please inform us if you have any allergies. - Children aged 6 and older are charged the adult rate. Children aged 5 and under may participate accompanied by an adult, but they will not receive 500g of miso to take home. - The class is usually held at a kitchen near Akasaka-mitsuke Station, but as it is a shared kitchen, it may be moved to another kitchen studio in the city center. We will notify you after booking if this occurs.
