Information about hiking in Oze

★About the route on the day

The hike starts from Hatomachi Pass and takes about 60 minutes to descend about 180m in elevation to Yamanohana. As it is a natural trail, you will have to descend stairs with uneven widths.

A boardwalk stretches out from Yamanohana, and depending on the group's pace, we may guide you all the way to the Ushikubi junction. The journey from Yamanohana to the Ushikubi junction takes approximately 60 minutes one way.

Depending on your time, you can climb the same route you came up to Hatomachi Pass. It takes about 80 to 90 minutes from Yamanohana to Hatomachi Pass.

*There have been many cases of equipment damage during tours. Please double-check your equipment before departure.

Hiking Information

[Please take full responsibility for your own health and act responsibly]

[Take your trash home with you]

Awareness of nature conservation is on the rise these days. When in the mountains or in nature, be sure to take your trash with you, and when smoking, be considerate of nature and those around you.

*This tour is not a "tourist spot" but "in the mountains." Please refer to the [Equipment Information] and be sure to dress and prepare properly before participating. [Equipment information]

Backpack

Keeping both hands free and not carrying a handbag is the basis of safe hiking. You can also use a waist bag if you like. When packing, put heavy items at the top and keep the center of gravity as high as possible to make it feel lighter.

●Clothing

Layering your upper body is essential to regulate your body temperature. Long-sleeved shirts are recommended to prevent injury and sunburn. Don't forget to bring a fleece to keep warm. Pants should be stretchy. Jeans are not suitable as they do not stretch or dry easily. Gloves or work gloves are also a good idea to keep warm and protect your hands.

●Hat

It is necessary to protect you from strong sunlight, rain, and overhead obstacles.

Shoes

The key is to choose a size slightly larger than usual and wear thick socks. Shoes that are too big or too small can hurt your feet and nails and lead to fatigue. Ankle-covering shoes allow you to walk easily, but can be tiring if you are carrying heavy luggage or taking a long trip, putting a lot of strain on your legs and hips. On the other hand, ankle-covering shoes are stable and prevent sprains, making them safer. Always wear shoes that you are comfortable wearing.

●Rainwear

"Always carry a raincoat even if the weather forecast is sunny" - this is the basic rule. A separate top and bottom type is ideal. Gore-Tex products (which are highly waterproof and release sweat and moisture) are comfortable. Poncho-type raincoats are useless in strong winds and rain. Umbrellas obstruct your view and are dangerous as they block one hand. They also make it difficult to move forward on narrow mountain trails and can get in the way of other climbers, so please refrain from using them while walking. Make sure to bring a backpack cover that fits the size of your backpack.

●Drinking water

Staying hydrated is essential, so prepare at least 1 liter of water.
