Product Info
- The electric potter's wheel is the most iconic tool when it comes to pottery. Since this is an experience, our policy is to have you make as much of it yourself as possible, as we want you to feel the satisfaction of having done pottery and discover the joy of it. Even if you are a beginner at pottery, we will teach you from scratch, so please feel free to visit us while sightseeing.
- Direct instruction from a TV Champion winner
- Our workshop representative, Yuki Mori, has won the TV Champion competition and is a certified traditional craftsman. If you are enthusiastic, you can request Yuki Mori when booking for direct instruction. We welcome not only experienced individuals but also beginners.
- Glaze selection available
- The glaze will be applied by our kiln later, but if you have a preference, you can choose one or two from five types. Otani Glaze... A brown glaze unique to Otani ware Aohagi... A glossy greenish light blue Nyuhaku... A glossy white Shiro-Karatsu... A textured white Blue-Karatsu... A textured deep blue In addition to the glaze, you can also choose to have ash applied to create an 'ash-covered' effect.
- Firing options available
- For an additional fee, you can choose firing methods such as gas kiln firing (reduction firing) for glazed works, anagama (tunnel kiln) firing, 'Hidasuki' (fire-cord) firing by wrapping in straw, or carbonization firing where the piece is placed in a container called a 'sayabachi' with charcoal. These methods create unique, flavorful pieces, so please consider them if you want to create a special masterpiece. Please note that firing in gas or anagama kilns takes longer than usual.

Please note the following when participating in this course:
- ・We take the utmost care during firing, but it is possible that the piece may break after firing. ・If multiple people come to the electric potter's wheel experience course, it will take approximately 30 minutes x number of people. (Please note that our kiln policy is to provide individual instruction for each person.) ・If additional clay is added, an additional 1,000 yen/1kg will be charged. (If you wish to fire additional pieces, an additional fee will be charged (for sake cups from 1,000 yen, teacups from 2,000 yen, etc.))
Other important points to note:
- You will be given 1kg of clay, but you can generally only fire one piece for the price of 1kg. (Up to two sake cups and up to five chopstick rests are possible.) If you would like to fire more than that, an additional fee of 1,000 yen will be charged per piece (per kg), even if it is within 1kg. We limit the number of pieces because the amount of work required for carving and glazing varies. Thank you for your understanding. (Usually, there will be a lot of clay left over even with 1kg.)

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations 1 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
- Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
NOTE
- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once your refund request is confirmed, KKday will initiate the refund to your original payment method within 15 days. The actual refund timing depends on your card-issuing bank’s policy.
