Product Info

This tour is more than just a Kyudo experience; it is a special journey into the profound world of Kyudo and Zen.
It is a spiritual journey where you will touch upon the life and spirituality of Master Awa Kenzo, known as the 'Archery Saint,' and experience the deep teachings of Zen through Kyudo.
The highlights of the tour include visiting the grave of Master Awa Kenzo and a Kyudo experience in a traditional setting. You will spend a quiet moment reflecting on his teachings at Shōhō-ji Temple, where he rests. Afterward, at the traditional 'Ishinomaki Kyudo Range' built by Master Awa's disciple, Keishiro Saijo, you will wear a dogi, learn proper etiquette, and draw the bow—a precious moment to center your heart and rediscover yourself.
The book 'Zen in the Art of Archery' by German philosopher Eugen Herrigel is a masterpiece widely read by many, including Steve Jobs, and is well-known in the West. By learning the teachings of Master Awa Kenzo, which influenced the book, you will gain a deep understanding of how the techniques of Kyudo and the spirit of Zen are intertwined.
