Product Info

  • Growing delicious tomatoes by visualizing the environment inside the greenhouse. Honda Farm practices ICT-driven agriculture with the support of Komatsu City Hall, JA Komatsu City, and local businesses. By visualizing temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and light intensity, they share information not only within their own company but also with local producers. Additionally, they use food waste from local schools and nurseries to create compost, enriching the soil to help crops grow strong and healthy. Why not visit Honda Farm, where circular agriculture and smart farming go hand in hand? *For non-Japanese speakers: The tour will be conducted in Japanese only.
  • Tour a next-generation farm utilizing ICT
  • At Honda Farm, with the cooperation of the local community and JA Komatsu City, ICT has been introduced to visualize the environment inside the greenhouses. Amidst the challenges of unpredictable weather due to global warming, they use ICT to manage not only human-perceptible factors like temperature and humidity but also CO2 levels, light intensity, and various other metrics to grow delicious vegetables loved by many.
  • Growing vegetables without soil!?
  • While Honda Farm is dedicated to soil cultivation, they also employ a method called hydroponics, which uses rice husks instead of soil. Growing vegetables via hydroponics helps prevent soil-borne diseases caused by continuous cropping and reduces the burden of farm work. By combining hydroponics with ICT-based greenhouse environmental management, they have achieved highly efficient agriculture.
  • Only possible at Honda Farm! The shift from tomatoes to cucumbers!
  • The greenhouse you will be visiting usually grows tomatoes, but this year, the tomatoes fell ill. As a result, they decided to switch the crops grown in the greenhouse from tomatoes to cucumbers. Changing crops so drastically is not easy, and there are not many farmers who practice cucumber hydroponics compared to tomato hydroponics. This was only made possible because of Honda Farm's proven track record of growing vegetables loved by many through the integration of ICT-based smart farming and hydroponics.
