  • Iriomote Island's coastline is said to be 130 km long, surrounded by coral reefs and shallow waters. At Bajau Trip Iriomote Field Service, our guides will create an optimal course for you, taking into consideration factors such as tides, wind direction, and weather, while also incorporating your feedback. Each day's paddle distance is approximately 10 to 15 km. Instead of paddling continuously throughout the day, we periodically stop off at beaches for rest, beachcombing, swimming, lunch, and tea. This eco-tour allows you to appreciate Iriomote Island's scenic coastline and the color of the ocean, while listening to your guide's stories about the island and learning about its history, culture, and nature. Of course, before departure, your guide will provide thorough training on everything from paddling to field explanations and equipment usage, so even beginners can participate with confidence. *Sea kayaking is a sport deeply influenced by nature. Please note that depending on the wind strength, sea conditions, and weather conditions on the day, we may switch to mangrove kayaking or trekking.
  • Touring the coal mining islands in the early Showa period
  • The start and finish point is Shirahama Port. Uchitori Island, which lies off the coast of Shirahama, is an island that is inseparable from the history of Iriomote Island, having been the site of a Japanese Army fortress during wartime and a coal mining settlement. The island is also famous for its "Nipa palm," a type of mangrove that can only be found on this island and in Funaura Bay in Japan. Along the way, you can stop by the neighboring Sototori Islands as you circle the island, enjoying snorkeling, exploring strange rock formations, and observing mangroves.
  • Explore the hidden gems of Iriomote Island
  • From Funaura on Iriomote Island to the Takana Hotel to the east, this coastline has a road, but is deserted, making it the perfect spot for sea kayaking. However, the shallow waters mean that the area is heavily affected by the tides. With excellent snorkeling spots densely packed with branching corals, sandy beaches with coconut palms, a stranded ship that looks like it came out of a Ghibli anime, and a deserted beach full of caves, the area is reminiscent of a hidden region in the South Seas.
  • This is Iriomote, rowing through the magnificent scenery of the South Seas
  • The coast stretching west from Toyohara on Iriomote Island has no roads and steep mountains come right up to the coast, making it one of Japan's few wilderness areas. The calm inland sea protected by the reef and the open sea with its swells from the open ocean are truly wild. Large sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs, and you can cool off in the cold stream waters that flow out of the area, stroll through the maze-like coastline of the kegara, and gaze up at the looming mountains - it's a truly impressive experience. This is a field for people somewhat accustomed to the outdoors.
