- Why not experience making a bamboo lantern using 'bamboo', a traditional Japanese material, in the heart of Nara? Since we use pre-processed bamboo, even beginners and children can participate with peace of mind. You will create a one-of-a-kind bamboo lantern by using special tools to carve patterns and enjoy the beauty of the shadows when lit. Once finished, you can take it home with you. It is popular as home decor, a memento of your trip to Nara, or as a gift. It is an experience where you can enjoy crafting while focusing in a quiet indoor space. In the basic plan, you will make a green bamboo lantern. *You can also change to the following bamboo types (please pay the difference on-site) ・Shaved bamboo lantern +1,000 JPY ・Shaved colored bamboo lantern +1,500 JPY The estimated experience time is about 40 to 60 minutes. If you are particular about the design, you may need additional time. In that case, an extension fee will be charged. Extension fee 30 minutes +1000 JPY 60 minutes +2000 JPY *No additional fees will be charged at the standard production pace.

There are no difficult steps, and the work mainly involves simple tasks such as using special tools to add patterns. It is an experience where you can fully enjoy the sense of accomplishment of having 'made it yourself' in a short time.

*Parking lots are often full on weekends, holidays, and during peak tourist seasons, so

Exit Kintetsu Nara Station at Exit 4 and walk straight south along Konishi Sakuradori Shopping Street for about 3 minutes.
The experience venue is on the 5th floor of the building where Sundrug is located (Iseya Building).

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations 8 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
- For cancellations made 4 to 7 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 20% will apply
- For cancellations made 2 to 3 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply
- For cancellations made 1 to 1 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 80% will apply
- Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
NOTE
- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once your refund request is confirmed, KKday will initiate the refund to your original payment method within 15 days. The actual refund timing depends on your card-issuing bank’s policy.
