  • This is the [5:00-7:00] sunrise plan. Experience dawn on the lake. At 5:00, the air is still blue, and the water surface is calm. Lake Chuzenji is surrounded by mountains, including Mount Nantai. The only thing you can hear is the sound of the kayak in the water. It is the quietest time of the day. Eventually, the ridgeline is dyed by the morning sun, and the sky changes color moment by moment—you will welcome that instant from on the lake. It is a dawn that can only be seen from the water, never from the land. We have been offering this pre-dawn tour since our founding. We use very stable kayaks and provide thorough instructions for beginners, so please join us with peace of mind. *The meeting time will shift depending on the sunrise time of the season. We will inform you of the confirmed meeting time via email after your booking is complete.

  • During the dawn hours, the wind often dies down, creating a 'nagi' (calm) where the lake surface is as still as a mirror. The kayak glides across the water, and all you can hear is the sound of your paddle and the birds beginning to wake up. You will be enveloped in a silence unique to the morning in Oku-Nikko, completely different from the bustle of the day. Please enjoy this special time where you can even hear your own breathing.

  • Lake Chuzenji is one of the few high-altitude lakes in Japan of this size. At an altitude of 1,269m, it is a historic summer resort that has been loved by foreigners since the Meiji era. Even in summer, the average maximum temperature is 22-23℃, and the breeze blowing over the lake is cool and refreshing. This is a kayaking experience on a lake close to the sky, where you can forget the heat of the world below.

  • In addition to basic equipment such as kayaks, paddles, and life jackets, domestic travel insurance for customers and all photo data taken by the guide on the day are included in the displayed price. Regarding the cancellation of the event:

  • If we deem it dangerous due to typhoons, thunderstorms, or other reasons, we reserve the right to cancel the tour. In such cases, we will not be able to reimburse you for transportation costs to the location, etc. Please understand this beforehand.

Important notes regarding course participation:

  • ・The roads are especially congested during Obon, holidays, and the autumn foliage season, so please allow plenty of time for your journey. ・For those wishing to participate with pets: On this tour, we charge 3,300 yen for small dogs, 5,500 yen for medium-sized dogs, and the adult rate for large dogs. Also, since there are individual differences in dog life jackets, we ask that you prepare one that fits your dog properly. Thank you for your understanding.

Even in summer, it can feel chilly in the mornings and evenings. We recommend layering your clothing to adapt to temperature changes. Quick-drying synthetic or polyester materials are suitable. Seasonal Clothing Guidelines ~Summer (July-August)~ Swimsuit, T-shirt or trousers, one long-sleeved shirt or jacket to wear over it, sandals or athletic shoes, hat and sunglasses. *You can enjoy splashing around and swimming. ~Early Summer/Early Autumn (June/September)~ Long-sleeved shirt and one light jacket, long trousers or tights + shorts, sandals or athletic shoes, hat and sunglasses. Early spring and autumn foliage (April-May and October-November): Wear thick long-sleeved shirts, a fleece or similar mid-layer, thick long pants, a rain jacket and pants, boots or athletic shoes, gloves, and a knit hat.

How to Get There
* **By Car:** 30 minutes from the Kiyotaki Interchange on the Nikko-Utsunomiya Expressway. Please park on the mountain side along the lakeshore at the Lake Chuzenji Boathouse. * **By Train:** 1 hour by bus from Tobu Nikko Station. * **By Other Means:** 0 minutes walk from the Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel bus stop.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations 8 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
  • For cancellations made 4 to 7 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 30% will apply
  • For cancellations made 2 to 3 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 40% will apply
  • For cancellations made 1 to 1 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply
  • Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
NOTE
  • Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once your refund request is confirmed, KKday will initiate the refund to your original payment method within 15 days. The actual refund timing depends on your card-issuing bank’s policy.
