-Lukang Folk Culture Museum-

Originally the former residence of the Koo family, one of Taiwan's five major families, the building adopts a mixed style of Western and Western architecture from the Taisho era. It took six years to complete and was finished in 1919. When it was completed, it was the first Western-style building in the area. The fusion of various Western classical architectural styles makes it a classic in the history of Taiwanese architecture, and locals call it "Yamato House". It is also a folk house of great historical significance and representativeness in Taiwan.

In 1973, upholding the spirit of "taking from society and giving back to society," the Koo family established the Lukang Folk Culture Museum Foundation, transforming their ancestral home into a cultural museum preserving memories of Taiwanese life. The museum houses over 6,000 precious artifacts, covering aspects of food, clothing, housing, transportation, religious customs, and festival culture from the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China. From wedding ritual objects and household furniture to religious ceremonies, each piece tells a story of Taiwan's social landscape and aesthetics over the past century.
