Product Info
The dinner and show at the Xi'an Tang Dynasty Palace Theater offer a unique experience, combining the 'Empress of the Great Tang' performance with a sumptuous imperial banquet or dumpling feast.
The 'Empress of the Great Tang' performance vividly recreates the life of Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history. Born in 624 AD, she entered the palace at the age of 14 as a concubine to Emperor Taizong and was given the title 'Wu Mei'. Later, she became the empress of Emperor Gaozong. After Emperor Gaozong passed away, she ruled as Empress Dowager. In 690 AD, she ascended the throne as emperor, changed the name of the dynasty to Zhou, and established the Wu Zhou regime. The performance is divided into several chapters, including 'Selection of Palace Maidens', 'Breaking into Wende Hall', 'Military Campaigns', 'Two Sages Ruling Together', and 'Coronation Ceremony'. Through magnificent Tang-style music and dance and exquisite stage settings, it presents the life journey of Wu Zetian from a young and ambitious palace maid to a powerful empress.
While enjoying the show, you can also savor an imperial banquet inspired by Tang Dynasty cuisine. These dishes are exquisitely prepared, with each one carrying a rich historical and cultural heritage. The dumpling banquet is another highlight, offering a variety of dumplings in different shapes and flavors, some of which are colored with organic vegetable juices, making them not only visually appealing but also healthy.
The combination of cultural performance and delicious cuisine provides an immersive experience of the Tang Dynasty, allowing you to relive the glory and prosperity of that era.
