This project aims to promote the historical charm of Daisen Pilgrimage by experiencing the traditional practices of Daisen Pilgrimage, which have continued since the Edo Period, and by incorporating cultural elements such as the shojin cuisine and souvenirs enjoyed by pilgrims back then. It also aims to emphasize the cultural value of shukubo as lodging places for pilgrims, further showcasing the historical and cultural context nurtured by the common people and samurai classes during the Edo Period.
This tour offers the opportunity to experience traditional religious ceremonies at Daisen-dera Temple and savor the local delicacies developed in the shrine's main town and surrounding area. These include fresh, safe game from the foothills of Mount Daisen, Daisen tofu dishes, and local sake brewed from premium spring waters, creating a unique "Special Daisen Pilgrimage Experience." Furthermore, participants will participate in the armor parade of the "Isehara Kanko Dokan Festival," immersing themselves in the historical atmosphere of samurai culture.
This event targets returning tourists from Europe, America, and Asia who frequently visit Tokyo. By providing authentic pilgrimage experiences and exposure to Edo culture throughout the itinerary, the event aims to create high-value-added tourism products and promote them as a tourism revitalization project driven mainly by local communities.
