Head to Hongdae Theater in Central Seoul. Experience NANTA, a 100-minute musical that premiered in October 1997. It showcases a quartet of playful chefs inside a dimly-lit kitchen. See them transform knives and other utensils into musical instruments.
Tap your foot to upbeat Korean tempos mixed with western beats. Delight in charming songs, ranging from Psy’s “Gangnam Style” to folk music. Feel the beat with the rhythmic banging of knives, pots, and pans. This is inspired by samulnori or traditional Korean percussion music.
Watch four crazy chefs deal with an impossible task of preparing a wedding banquet in one hour. Witness a love story unfold between two characters. Join the wacky actors onstage as a bride, groom, or competitor. Enjoy Korea’s musical mayhem today!
