Due to the impact of the 0403 earthquake, Taroko National Park is currently under traffic control. Entry must comply with the park's designated access hours.
Currently, the park follows a fixed-schedule access system:
- 07:00–08:00
- 10:00 (Queue-based access only)
- 12:00–13:00
- 15:00 (Queue-based access only)
- 17:00–17:30
Travelers planning to visit Taroko must coordinate their itinerary with the park's access hours.
Prohibited Entry Times:
- Daily from 17:30 (Entry prohibited on the section from Tianxiang to Taroko Entrance; exit only)
Nighttime Closure:
- Daily from 18:30 – 07:00 the next day (Full closure of the entire route)

Pine Garden
Located on Meilun Mountain, the Pine Garden is the most complete military building from the Japanese colonial period remaining in Hualien County. With its high-altitude geographical advantage, it offers an excellent view, allowing not only for the monitoring of warships on the Pacific Ocean but also for tracking the takeoff and landing of planes at the former Nan Airport. Coupled with the dense pine branches and leaves covering the sky, this gray building appears even more secluded.
Ji-An Ching-Hsiu Temple
Originally named the Shingon-shu Yoshino Mission, it is the most complete Japanese-style temple remaining in Taiwan. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese established an immigrant village here, which became the religious center for immigrants to soothe their homesickness. After the restoration of the wooden architecture and the reconstruction of its humanistic spirit, it exudes a strong Edo style. The temple preserves precious artifacts such as Fudo Myoo, 88 stone Buddhas, and the Hyakudoishi (Hundred-time Stone). It also includes an exhibition area offering dining and yukata experiences, allowing travelers to truly feel the Zen atmosphere of Japanese style.
Coffee Shop | Douzhai. Tea House
Once the dormitory for the Hualien Chief Prosecutor during the Japanese occupation, this heritage site has been revitalized. In addition to serving Japanese-style coffee, desserts, and light meals, the park features two cute Shiba Inus roaming around. Sitting inside for afternoon tea is a treat, making it a must-visit old-house cafe in Hualien.
Lord of the Rings Sam's Cafe
This super dreamy building, which looks like an elf village from Lord of the Rings or the home of the seven dwarfs in Snow White, is actually a cafe. It is not just a place to drink and rest, but also full of artistic flair. You can view exhibitions and take beautiful photos, making it a favorite for hipsters and influencers!
Shimen Recreation Area
Traveling a bit further north from Shiti Port, you will arrive at Shimen Recreation Area. Compared to Shitiping, the smaller-scale Shimen is the top choice for those looking to avoid crowds and enjoy the sea in peace. Waves crash against the sea cave that resembles a 'march' car, and with various sea-eroded landscapes, every scene is magnificent and breathtaking! With the right photography techniques, playing with different times, angles, lighting, and the tides, you can capture unique, cinematic shots.
Necklace Coast Studio
With a cup of fragrant coffee and a stunning swing facing the sea, you cannot miss this ultimate photo spot: 'Necklace Coast Studio' located on the Fengbin coast! Legend has it that an Amis warrior lost a necklace here during a campaign, causing the coast to sparkle with beautiful light day and night. The studio was designed and created by three siblings, who built a crescent-shaped swing where you can gently sway while leaning against the beautiful East Coast scenery.
Xinshe Rice Terraces
The famous 'Sea Terraces' are none other than the Xinshe Rice Terraces. Whether it is during planting, before harvest, or after the fields are left fallow, you can experience the diverse charm of these sea-facing terraces in any month or season! The period before harvest is the favorite scene for most people, with plump rice grains swaying in the sea breeze under the sun. Walking along the ridges, looking toward the distant Coastal Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean, you will feel as if you have become part of the scenery, reluctant to leave.
Shitiping
The Shitiping coast is rich in ecology and is a great place for observing intertidal zones, diving, and rock fishing. You can spend a long time in this vast scenic area. Most travelers stroll along the shore to admire the unique rock formations or climb the 17-meter-high cuesta to take in the geological landscape of Shitiping and enjoy the vast, magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean.
Shimen Bansiaojiao Recreation Area
When the weather is clear, you can take in the panoramic view of the azure Pacific Ocean and the boundless seascape. A cute little lighthouse is set at the entrance. Walking down the circular stairs to the side, you can see the 'Energy Land' stone carving, which, paired with the unbeatable sea view, is perfect for taking beautiful photos as a memento.

Charter service hours are 08:00 - 22:00. If the start and end times are outside this range, an additional NT$500 per trip will be charged, payable to the driver on-site.
For surcharges in remote areas, please pay the driver at the time of boarding, and the amount will be indicated on the receipt.
Children under 4 years old need to provide their date of birth and weight in advance. One infant seat will be provided free of charge. For the second seat onwards, an additional NT$300 will be charged on-site.
To ensure time management and tourist safety, the driver will inform you on the day if some attractions cannot be visited due to weather or other factors.
In the event of force majeure, such as typhoons, heavy rain, earthquakes, or other unforeseen circumstances leading to trip cancellation, KKday will provide a full refund. Travelers may also postpone their travel dates or cancel their bookings, in which case KKday will also provide a full refund.
This is a private charter car service, and the vehicle and driver have been reserved for the entire day. If the traveler ends the trip early due to personal reasons (including but not limited to weather, last-minute changes, or unwillingness to continue the trip), it will be considered as if the service has been used, and no partial refund will be provided.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations 4 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
- For cancellations made 3 to 3 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply
- Cancellation is not allowed between 0–2 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once your refund request is confirmed, KKday will initiate the refund to your original payment method within 15 days. The actual refund timing depends on your card-issuing bank’s policy.
