Product Info

-What You Can Expect-

You can see many of ancient windmills by going to Zaanse Schans. The Zaan river's banks are lined with more than 10 windmills, and you can explore the region for free as it truly is an outdoor museum. Some of the windmills allow entry for a small additional fee. One of the best spots to see windmills in Holland is Zaanse Schans.

It won't be disappointing to take a stroll along De Dijk and through the harbor area in Volendam, a typical Dutch fishing community. Here, you'll go to the Cheese Factory to sample some delectable cheese and, if time permits, learn how it's made. For lunch if you plan to stay in town, we advise trying the just caught fish..

The settlement of Marken, formerly an island in the Markermeer and now a peninsula, is the third place seen during the tour. The boat ride over the IJsselmeer from Marken to Volendam will take 30 minutes and be scenic. As you pass the towns of Monnickendam and Katwoude, enjoy the scenery.

Be careful to stay on the road when you stroll through the homes on Marken since you can find yourself in someone's yard before you realize it. Our journey is concluded with a stop at a traditional wooden shoe manufacturer. Clogs are still created in this location using tools powered by steam in accordance with a century-old tradition. You can try them out for yourself and see how comfy they are.
