[Online Check-In]

  • Customers are recommended to check in online in advance. Please ensure the following when checking in online:
    - Vehicle selected, customer's name, pickup and drop-off location, and time is correct when checking in online
    - Flight details and every driver's info is provided. If there are 2 or more drivers, select "+Driver" on the "Driver Detail" page
    - That the "Inclusive Pack" is selected and paid on the "Liability" page
    - If child or booster seat, snow chains, portable fan heater, or other additional purchases are needed, please ensure to request them in advance as add-ons are subject to availability
  • Please contact KKday Customer Service if the traveler's info is incorrect

[Vehicle Pickup]

  • Please arrive promptly at the rental office to pick up your vehicle
  • Please note that the driver must pick up the vehicle and sign the rental agreement on-site in person
  • Local rental office is entitled to retain the details of the credit or debit card provided by the customer in connection with a booking. The credit card will not be charged unless the following occurs. The below is for reference only (please refer on-site for exact information and fees):
    - Vehicle is not returned in a clean condition. This includes smoking related cleaning, as smoking is not permitted inside the vehicle. The toilet and wastewater tank (if applicable) must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle or a cleaning and soiling fee will be charged
    - Freedom camping and toll and traffic offenses, including speeding and parking violations
    - On-the-road assistance in which case the malfunction was caused by the customer's actions or omissions, or in case the fault is not covered by the vehicle manufacturer’s guarantee
    - Vehicle returned late
    - Vehicle not returned with a full fuel tank and full gas container
  • Please reserve at least 1 hour for vehicle pickup and rental processing; on-site staff will provide a brief introduction of the vehicle

[Vehicle Drop-Off]

  • Please ensure to return the vehicle at the designated location on time
  • Additional fees will apply for customers who fail to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel
  • A maximum surcharge of NZ$250 will apply if the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition. This includes smoking-related cleaning, as smoking is not permitted inside the vehicle. The toilet and wastewater tank (if applicable) must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle or a cleaning and soiling fee will be charged

  • The Inclusive Pack includes:
    - Liability reduction option (zero-liability), credit card authority taken during pickup
    - Damage includes any and all damage to third party property, and any and all damage to the rented vehicle including windscreens, tires, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in, or vandalism
    - Single vehicle roll-over cover
  • The Inclusive Pack will not apply if the following situations occur:
    - Any damage caused by willful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle) or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or negligence
    - Any damage where the customer is charged by local authorities for being careless, showing gross negligence, or willfulness in failing to abide by the local road rules
    - Damage caused to the vehicle because the total load in kilograms has exceeded the recommended load as stated in the vehicle manual
    - Damage caused by drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers that have a license that has been canceled or suspended and/or drivers who have a license that is classified as a learner or probationary license
    - Any damage caused to the vehicle due to the incorrect use of snow chains. Any damage associated with the incorrect use of fuel (fuel being diesel or petrol), which includes biodiesel (should not be used), water, or another fuel contaminator
    - Retrieving or recovering a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged, caught, trapped, stuck, or restricted in any way and/or has been abandoned, in each case in circumstances within the control of the customer
    - Replacing keys, which have been lost, damaged, or stolen, or retrieving keys that have been locked inside the vehicle
    - Please refer to the rental agreement for other insurance policy information

Reminders

  • Additional drivers are allowed for each vehicle rental; drivers must apply in advance and provide a driving permit and other official documentation, otherwise they will not be allowed to drive

  • If the vehicle must be picked up after rental office business hours, please obtain approval before booking by calling the office number at 0800-688-558. If the late pickup is approved, a fee of NZ$150 is applicable

  • If a customer wishes to change the drop-off destination or time, they must first obtain authorization by calling the rental agency at 0800-688-558. This is subject to the change being approved and an additional charge of up to NZ$750 may apply

  • Refunds will not be granted to travelers who drop-off the vehicle early, pick up the vehicle late, or choose to downgrade to a smaller vehicle

  • If the rental period needs to be adjusted, please contact KKday Customer Service to obtain authorization from the rental agency. Additional fees will apply to rental extensions failing to do so

  • Please ensure to bring your international driving permit and original drivers license (or an accredited English-translated license) with you at all times. Drivers may be fined NZ$400–1000 by local police officers if they fail to comply with this requirement

  • In the event of an emergency, accident, vehicle malfunction, or other urgent situation, please contact the 24-hour emergency number at 0800-788-558 for assistance

  • The rental agency reserves the right to refuse rental to drivers who are deemed inexperienced or fail to provide sufficient documentation

  • According to New Zealand law, children between 0–7 years old are required to use a child seat placed in the backseat. Please notify in the Note section if child seats are required. Travelers may bring their own child seats; please ensure they comply with New Zealand, Australian, European, or American standards

  • Smoking is prohibited inside the vehicle

  • Animals are not allowed inside the vehicle

  • 240v power sockets are available inside the campervan. Please note that these will only operate when the vehicle has been connected to an external power source on a campsite

  • Electric outlets on vehicle are the same as New Zealand's standard outlet; travelers are recommended to bring their own electrical adaptors

  • Due to limited spacing, travelers are not recommended to bring hardcover large-sized luggage

  • Personal toiletries such as hairdryer and razors are not provided

  • All vehicles include 1 GB data of Wi-Fi. Usage will be displayed on-screen via the in-vehicle tablet. Please note that when going over the data limit, customers will be charged for a Wi-Fi 1GB (NZ$35) top-up automatically; fees are to be paid upon vehicle return

  • The Wi-Fi can be used in most 3G mobile phone coverage areas. The quality of communication may be affected by outside conditions such as surrounding landforms (i.e. mountains), weather, obstruction by buildings, the number of users, or the location

  • A NZ$100 surcharge will apply to all rentals pickups and/or drop-offs on the following National public holidays: Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, Queen’s Birthday, Labor Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, the day after New Year’s Day, and Waitangi Day

  • According to New Zealand vehicle regulations, the Road User Charge Recovery Fee is payable for diesel vehicles upon vehicle return. Fees will be calculated and collated upon return of the vehicle based on the kilometers traveled during the rental period from NZ$7.24 to 7.26 per 100 kilometers
