With the sounds of the Gion-bayashi, Kyoto in July is completely immersed in the Gion Festival.
The Gion Festival is a ritual of Yasaka Shrine with over 1,000 years of history, featuring a variety of events held throughout the month from July 1st (Kippu-iri) to July 31st (Ekijinja Nagoshi-sai).
The main highlights are the Yamaboko Junko (float processions) on July 17th (Saki-matsuri/Former Festival) and July 24th (Ato-matsuri/Latter Festival).
We are now offering limited-seat plans for the Saki-matsuri and Ato-matsuri, which include reserved seats for the Yamaboko Junko and a 'Choice of Takeout Drink Voucher' that can be used on the day of the event at Fortune Garden Kyoto!
The magnificent and gorgeous Yamaboko floats are a must-see!
For the Saki-matsuri on July 17th, 23 Yamaboko floats led by the Naginata-hoko will begin their procession around 9:00 (expected to arrive near the paid viewing area around 10:00–10:30).
For the Ato-matsuri on July 24th, 11 floats led by the Hashibenkei-yama will begin their procession around 9:30 (expected to arrive near the paid viewing area around 9:30–10:00).
The calls and chants of the Yamaboko crews are one of the highlights of watching the procession!

'Fortune Garden Kyoto', a wedding venue that marks time alongside the city of Kyoto
The former Shimadzu Corporation headquarters building, designed by the master of modern architecture Goichi Takeda and built in 1927.
This historic building, which has marked history in the heart of Kyoto, has been reborn as a space for restaurants, weddings, and parties.
The exchange for paid viewing seats and takeout drinks will take place in front of this building.
Approximately 1 minute walk north from Exit 16 of Kyoto City Subway Tozai Line 'Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station'.

You can enjoy the Yamahoko parade during the early and late festivals from paid seats. You can sit down and take your time to admire the gorgeous decorations of the Yamahoko.
Purchase Notice
・Please be sure to stop by Fortune Garden Kyoto to pick up your paid seating for the Yamahoko Procession and a voucher for a take-out drink of your choice, which can be used on the day of the event, at the reception.
・Paid seats for the Gion Festival Yamahoko Junko (first or second half of the festival) are general seating and seat locations cannot be reserved.
・Due to weather conditions on the day, the course may be changed or some content may be canceled. In such cases, no refunds will be given.
・Please note that due to changes in the procession route, etc., some of the floats may not be visible.
・We expect it to be busy, so please allow yourself plenty of time to enter.
・There are no trash cans inside the venue. Please take your trash with you when you leave.
・Please follow the guidance and instructions of on-site staff when viewing the exhibit.
・The Yamahoko procession will take place rain or shine. There will be no refunds unless the Yamahoko procession is cancelled.
・As extreme heat is expected, please be sure to stay hydrated and take other measures to protect yourself from the heat, such as bringing cooling items and hats.
- Parasols, rain umbrellas, and folding umbrellas are not permitted as they block the view.
・Please prepare a raincoat or rain gear in case of sudden rain showers typical of summer. (Parasols, rain umbrellas, and folding umbrellas are not permitted as they block visibility.)
・Please refrain from using tripods or ladders for camera photography, drones, or anything that may obstruct the view of other customers within the seating area.
・Please refrain from bringing or consuming alcoholic beverages.
・Smoking is prohibited.
・Please be aware that toilet facilities are not adequate.
・Please be mindful of other visitors when taking photographs or videos.
・Anyone who causes trouble to other customers inside or outside the venue or does not follow the instructions of staff will be forced to leave. In such cases, tickets will not be refunded.
・Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any damage that occurs within the spectator seats due to reasons beyond the control of the organizers.
・Please be careful not to lean on steps or fences, or lean your body or mobile devices over the fence.
・Please remain quiet while viewing the exhibits, and refrain from wearing overly revealing or decorative clothing.
・Take-out drink vouchers cannot be cancelled separately.
・Take-out drink vouchers can only be redeemed during the specified times.

Cancellation Policy
- Once the order has been completed, it cannot be canceled, modified, or refunded
- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once your refund request is confirmed, KKday will initiate the refund to your original payment method within 15 days. The actual refund timing depends on your card-issuing bank’s policy.
