Mount Takao offers different charms throughout the year, but spring (for cherry blossoms) and autumn (for maple leaves) are the most popular. The autumn foliage season, in particular, peaks around mid-November with spectacular views of mountains covered in vibrant red maple leaves. Summer is ideal for escaping the heat, and in winter, you might even see snow and catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji covered in snow from the summit. It's recommended to avoid Japan's major holidays like Golden Week to experience fewer crowds and a better visit.
The most convenient way to travel to Mount Takao from Tokyo's Shinjuku Station is by taking the Keio Line. Upon exiting the station, you'll find the cable car and chair lift stations for Mount Takao, making it very easy to proceed. This route is fast and direct, saving you the hassle of transfers, and is a popular choice for visiting Mount Takao.

The summit is not only a great spot for enjoying the scenery but also offers distant views of Mount Fuji on clear days.
Yes, from the observation deck at the summit of Mount Takao, Mount Fuji can indeed be clearly seen on a clear day, especially during autumn and winter when the air is more transparent, offering better visibility.
