Chidorigafuchi Park: Located between Kitanomaru Park and the British Embassy, it stretches from Chidorigafuchi Greenway to Hanzomon Gate of the National Palace Museum. It is named for the shape of its lake, which resembles a thousand birds about to take flight. 170 cherry trees are planted along the river avenue and embankment, making it one of the three most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo, along with Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Ueno Park.
Early April is the best time to view cherry blossoms at Chidorigafuchi. You can take a boat from the boarding area in the middle of the greenway and enjoy the cherry blossoms while rowing on Chidorigafuchi.
Ueno Park is one of Japan's five oldest parks. It is famous for the Ueno Zoo, numerous museums, and its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. It opened to the public in 1873 and was officially named "Ueno Onshi Park".
Every spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, Ueno Park attracts over 2 million visitors, most of whom gather on the main road near the entrance to Ueno Zoo. This area contains approximately half of the park's cherry blossoms. At the peak of cherry blossom season, visitors weave through crowds enjoying picnics.
