Product Info

Day 1 Airport Pickup: Anchorage Airport. Pickup time: 13:00 – 21:00 (based on flight arrival time).
Upon arrival, check into the hotel to rest. If you do not require airport pickup, please proceed to the designated hotel on your own (check-in at hotels in Alaska is generally available after 15:00).
Day 2
Depart from the hotel in the morning and head to Matanuska Glacier. We will make a stop at a large supermarket along the way, where you can freely purchase and prepare your lunch for the day. Upon arrival at the glacier, enjoy a glacier hiking experience (approx. 2 hours) led by a professional guide. Matanuska Glacier is the largest glacier in Alaska accessible by vehicle. Classified as a valley glacier, it flows like a river through the valley under its own gravity, winding north from the Chugach Mountains to the Glenn Highway, making it the most popular attraction between Anchorage and Glennallen. Follow your guide across this ten-thousand-year-old glacier to experience the endless expanse of pure white ice and the deep blue ice caves formed by the glacier. Due to the topographical features of the valley glacier, it experiences sunnier weather than surrounding areas in winter, making Matanuska Glacier the top choice for many glacier hikers. Furthermore, the combination of the glacier and Sheep Mountain makes this one of the most magnificent and breathtaking regions in Alaska.
Day 3
Depart from the hotel in the morning and board the Alaska Aurora Winter Train* heading north to Fairbanks, the second-largest city in Alaska (08:30-20:00). The Alaska sightseeing train is very famous locally and operates only on weekends. It passes through the Alaska Range and Denali. The train travels at a leisurely pace, allowing you to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery of lush forests and golden landscapes along the way. Fairbanks is the transportation hub for exploring the Alaskan interior and the Arctic Circle, and it is also one of the best places in the world to view the Northern Lights. With over 243 nights of clear skies throughout the year, it is a prime location for aurora viewing. Located just 310 kilometers from the Arctic Circle and sheltered by mountain ranges, it avoids severe weather, which is why aurora chasers gather in this city where the Northern Lights are most easily observed. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and rest. During this time, you can prepare your gear for the night's aurora viewing.
As night falls, to avoid urban light pollution, we plan to head to our carefully selected Aurora Viewing Cabin* at 22:00. Its excellent location increases your chances of spotting the Northern Lights. Our professional aurora guide will introduce you to the knowledge of the Northern Lights, camera settings, and photography techniques to help you capture stunning photos. The cabin provides free hot drinks, coffee, and an aurora monitoring screen, allowing you to wait for the Northern Lights in warmth (1st aurora viewing, cost included). Expected return to the hotel at 02:00 the next morning.
Day 4
Enjoy a leisurely morning at the hotel. We are scheduled to depart from the designated hotel at 13:00 to visit the famous North Pole, also known as the 'Santa Claus House'. To create a rich Christmas atmosphere in the hometown of Santa Claus, a 16-meter-tall giant Santa statue, a 2-meter-tall polar bear, and reindeer statues have been built here. Many surrounding public facilities also feature Christmas motifs, making you feel as if you are in a fairy tale world. Afterward, you will follow your guide to the Museum of the North* located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. This is the best place for visitors to learn about the mysterious Arctic world and the authentic lives of early local people. The museum's exterior features white lines and curved shapes, mimicking the snow-covered landscape of the Arctic region, which reflects dazzling light under the sun, making it one of the landmarks of Fairbanks. The museum is divided into different exhibition halls, providing detailed introductions to the geographical and historical changes of the Arctic region, and displaying precious animal specimens (Blue Babe, mammoth, a brown bear nearly 3 meters tall, etc.) that we can usually only see in books, which are particularly attractive to visitors. You will then be dropped off at your hotel to rest. (If the Museum of the North is closed, we will arrange a visit to the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center and refund the $15 museum admission fee on-site.)
The cabin provides free hot drinks, coffee, and an aurora monitoring screen, allowing you to wait for the Northern Lights in warmth (2nd aurora viewing, cost included). Expected return to the hotel at 02:00 the next morning.
You may choose to upgrade to the hilltop Aurora Glass Igloo experience at your own expense. Each glass igloo offers an unobstructed view, providing visitors with an excellent viewing experience. The rooms are fully equipped: floor heating throughout the entire unit to ensure warmth and comfort; American breakfast, private shower, and 24-hour hot water are provided. The bathroom is equipped with a high-power hairdryer and practical amenities, greatly enhancing the comfort of your stay.
The 3 nights of aurora viewing included in the original itinerary can be adjusted to upgrade one night of viewing to an Aurora Glass Igloo observation + stay. It is recommended that guests bring only a small amount of personal items, as the original hotel room will be reserved for guests to store large luggage.
*Warm Reminder: Hotel room availability is limited. Please confirm available dates with customer service before placing your order.
Day 5 Fairbanks
Enjoy a leisurely day in Fairbanks. You can arrange your own activities or participate in local winter special projects at your own expense. As night falls, to avoid urban light pollution, we plan to head to the areas surrounding Fairbanks at 22:00. Based on the day's weather conditions, the direction of the aurora, and their extensive experience in chasing the lights, our professional aurora guide will take you to the most favorable location to track the Northern Lights. During this time, we will also introduce you to the knowledge of the Northern Lights, camera settings, and photography techniques to help you capture stunning photos (3rd aurora viewing, cost included). Expected return to the hotel at 02:00 the next morning.
