— What You Can Expect —
Located a short walk from Shinjuku Station, Shinjuku Gyoen is one of the largest and most popular parks in Tokyo. With its sprawling lawns and serene surroundings, the Gyoen is also a famous spot for hanami (cherry blossom viewings) parties.
This year, you get to experience a cherry blossom viewing unlike any other thanks to a beautiful light art event produced by digital art collective NAKED, Inc. Every evening from 31 March to 23 April, Shinjuku Gyoen will be lit with bold and vibrant installations designed to emphasize the tradition and beauty of hanami festivals. As you walk through the Garden, you can see cherry blossom trees illuminated in iridescent lights with pink petals projected on the ground. Some of the digital sakura trees are even interactive and change shape and color when you’re nearby.
