Product Info

- About the Park -

In 2005, founders Chen Chung-cheng and Hsieh Chiu-tuan, driven by their passion for traditional crafts and concerned about the loss of skilled artisans in temple Koji pottery and Jiannian (cut-and-paste) techniques due to changing times, established Bantaoyao to preserve this heritage. The old factory was redesigned into five sections: the Craft Museum, DIY Experience Workshop, Creative Shop, Bantaoyao Restaurant, Jiannian Theme Restaurant, and an Oriental-style garden. Combined with the surrounding rural scenery of the Chianan Plain, it has become a sanctuary for Koji pottery and Jiannian crafts. To help visitors gain a deeper understanding of local features, Bantaoyao offers a series of package tours. Ride a tandem bike through the lanes, explore the history of community development through guided tours, unleash your creativity with DIY activities to make your own unique work, or rest at the restaurant to enjoy delicious meals, drinks, snacks, and the signature pottery plate roast. You can also visit the Craft Museum to see colorful artworks built with traditional Jiannian and Koji pottery techniques. Through community development, the Bantaoyao Park and Bantou Art Village have boosted local tourism and generated economic benefits. The creation of community art walls allows artisans to give back to their hometown using traditional Koji and Jiannian methods, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the environment and improving the quality of life and happiness of residents. Local crafts help tell the community's stories, increasing opportunities for interaction and fostering closer relationships among residents.
