Hualien Farglory Ocean Park | Ocean Never Sleeps
2026/05/20
Suitable for families with elementary school children, this park offers close-up observation of sea lions, explanations of their anatomy and other features, and a Q&A session. The washrooms and rest areas are clean and bright. Our anemone, seahorse, and blue whale attendants were fantastic, sharing many fish facts and anecdotes, which was very educational. The lights are turned off around 10 PM, but you can still see some fish afterward. The sea lions come ashore to sleep at night, but they come back down to swim early the next morning. Outside of the main attraction, you can enjoy the rides and shows. Food is a bit pricey but readily available. There are shallow pools and fountains for playing in the water. You can wear a swimsuit or bring an extra set of clothes; there are also paid hand dryers nearby.

The service was excellent both on the way there and back; they even took into account the road conditions. The service was truly thoughtful.

Although the price wasn't cheap, the overall experience was great. If you've booked a campervan, I recommend reserving two full days to spend at Ocean Park. You can check in as soon as the park opens, leave your luggage, and pay a parking fee before entering. If you mention it's part of the "Night Without Sleep" tour, you won't be charged for parking, and you'll be reminded to take all your luggage off the vehicle. After entering the park, you can watch the sea lion show first, and then take the cable car up to see the castle show. For both shows, you can inform the staff in advance to reserve VIP seats. VIP seats in the castle show include bubbles and paper flowers shaped like marine animals. Afterwards, take a walk down to have lunch and watch the parade. Then you can check into your campervan. Someone will bring your luggage to the campervan, and the butler will explain the upcoming itinerary. "Night Without Sleep" tours include sea lion and dolphin introductions. After the sea lion introduction, you can take photos with the sea lions, but campervans have priority for photos. After that, there's time to see the guided tour of the ocean tank (but there won't be a daytime aquarium tour). Afterwards, have dinner (you can take out the sparkling wine provided in the campervan; if the weather isn't good, we'll eat at the Lighthouse Cafe). After dinner, we explored the aquarium at night. The butler's explanations were quite clear this time. Afterwards, we returned to the campervan to shower and rest. Campervan #2 was more luxurious because it had a bathtub for soaking. The next day, after breakfast, there was a dolphin show. Next, we needed to change into wetsuits for interaction with the sea lions (they will confirm your wetsuit size on the first day; don't lie about your height and weight, as it would be quite embarrassing if the clothes didn't fit). After interacting with the sea lions, we returned to the campervan to check out. The butler helped store our luggage, and we had free time to explore. The campervan also included a mermaid show, scheduled for the afternoon of the second day. We had reserved VIP seats with excellent views and no need to queue early for entry. We didn't arrive very early for the show, but as VIPs of the campervan, the staff guided us to excellent seats, making for a very fulfilling and enriching experience.
