This guided tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum, booked through KKday, was a fantastic experience overall, especially the one with our guide, Fabio! Fabio was incredibly professional and truly knowledgeable about ancient Roman history and culture. The tour didn't just introduce "what buildings are here," but rather weaved together historical background, important figures, events, and the lifestyle of the ancient Romans, making it rich in content without being boring. I think the difference between having a guide and not having one is huge! If you visit the Roman Forum on your own, you might only see a vast expanse of ruins and find it hard to imagine what it looked like two thousand years ago. But after Fabio's explanation, you begin to understand the former purpose of each area and can better imagine what Rome was like back then, suddenly making the ruins seem to have a story to tell. The Colosseum tour was also excellent. Fabio filled in many details that you wouldn't notice if you just rushed through, and he answered all questions carefully. You could tell he truly understands and loves Roman history. After the entire trip, my understanding of ancient Rome increased significantly, making my visit to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum even more meaningful. I highly recommend this tour, and I also highly recommend Fabio! If it's your first time in Rome, I strongly recommend joining a professional guide instead of exploring on your own; the experience is completely different.
