This tour offers a deep dive into Gandhi's life and philosophy. Our guide, Dave, a history major, provided a thorough and detailed explanation, going beyond a simple overview of the exhibits.
Towards the end of the tour, the topic shifted to the present day. Coincidentally, during the tour, news broke that the Minister of Education had resigned due to the actions of the Cockroach Janta Party, who had protested the leaking of exam questions.
"They, too, are carrying on Gandhi's philosophy,"
I asked at the end.
"I believe Gandhi was the first, and so far the last, leader in human history to achieve the great feat of independence from colonial rule through the power of love, not through violence (or negotiation power backed by violence). In this modern world where power clashes with power once again, do you think a second Gandhi will emerge?"
"Yes. A person who could become a second Gandhi has already appeared here in India. His name is..."
As the half-day journey through Gandhi's life drew to a close, I felt a faint light of hope igniting in my heart.
