Kema Sakuranomiya Park

4,500 cherry trees are expected to bloom during spring in this enchanting riverside park called Kema Sakuranomiya Park. It’s found along the shores of Okawa River, where you can admire cherry trees and boats passing through the river, or try yummy snacks at the row of street food stalls around the sprawling park. Locals also love biking in the park for a good afternoon exercise with the pretty sakura trees in the background.

How to get here: Take the JR Osaka Loop Line from Shin-Osaka Station and get off at Sakuranomiya Station. Head to the Ogawa River and see the park from there. 

The Mint Bureau

Did you know that The Mint in Osaka doubles as a popular cherry blossom spot too? Aside from being a government agency, The Mint is home to more than 300 cherry trees of 100 varieties making it a popular destination during spring. It opens to the public just in time for the blooming season, so locals and tourists can explore their well-kept cherry tree garden and even the museum.

How to get here: Take the train on Tanimachi Subway Line and Keihan Main Line, and get off at Temmabashi Station. From there, it’s only a 10-minute walk. 

Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park

This family-friendly park offers a lot of attractions and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Aside from the charming sakura trees that surround the sprawling park, you’ll love exploring many different plants and flowers in their tulip garden, meeting friendly animals, enjoying a cup of tea in its tea house, and taking photos by the windmill for the perfect spring afternoon in Osaka.

Kishiwada Castle

In the Senshu area lies a castle that becomes all the more charming in the spring. Kishiwada Castle, built in 1334, is a three-story castle tower that houses some historical artifacts and a watchtower that tells the story of the Momoyama Period. More people come to visit during the sakura season in Osaka as they have their own Kishiwada Castle Festival that offers various events, food stalls, and night illuminations for tourists to enjoy.
