Set sail to an adventure of fun in Tokyo DisneySea! To help you get the most out of your Tokyo DisneySea experience, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about Tokyo DisneySea before you go!
Tokyo DisneySea — an overview

Tokyo Disney Resort houses two amusement parks — Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Tokyo DisneySea is the first and only marine-themed Disney Park in the world. Inspired by marine adventures, Tokyo DisneySea is divided into seven areas and is home to 30 attractions.
Compared to Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea’s rides and experiences are designed for a more grown-up audience. Some notable rides are Raging Spirits, which features a 360-degree roller coaster loop; Tower of Terror, which lets you board a terrifying elevator, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which lets you explore underwater while aboard a small submarine!
Best Time to Visit Tokyo DisneySea

When visiting Tokyo DisneySea, you’d want to avoid holidays in general to avoid larger crowds. Do expect that the park gets a lot of visitors all year round as one of the most popular tourist attractions in Japan. Here are our top recommendations for the best time to visit this theme park:
Spring (March-May)
Spring means beautiful cherry blossoms in Japan, which also means more tourists in the country. Spring brings good weather but it also brings crowds in droves. Golden Week — a series of holidays in Japan that begins in the end of April and ends in the start of May — also brings a lot of visitors to the park.
Summer (June-September)
Summer means less crowds in the park but if you’re going to Tokyo DisneySea around these months, make sure to dress comfortably and drink lots of water because the heat can get unbearable in Japan! Do note that there are also less activities and shows during the summer. If you’re doing a summer trip, we suggest going around the early weeks of June or towards the end of September.
Autumn (September-November)
By autumn, the temperature is moderately cool and the crowds are considerably smaller. Autumn brings beautiful fall colors. Expect Halloween-themed activities during October and Christmas activities by the end of November.
Winter (December-February)
Winter is one of the busiest seasons for the park, but it’s also a good time to visit Tokyo DisneySea because this is when the Christmas festivities start to roll in.
How to Get to Tokyo DisneySea from Tokyo’s City Center
Getting to Tokyo DisneySea is easy! Here are the available options for you.
By Private Car
To get to Tokyo DisneySea by private car, take the Shuto Wangan Expressway and use the Kasai or Urayusu exit. On weekends and holidays, the Kasai exit can get congested so it’s recommended that you use the Urayusu exit instead. Depending on the availability of the area, you may be asked to park your car in Resort Parking Areas 6, 7, or 8. Parking fees apply.
Parking fee is 2,500 JPY on weekdays and 3,000 JPY on weekends and holidays. The parking areas are available from 9:45 AM – 11:00 PM. Due to the high volume of visitors that the park welcomes every day, expect heavy traffic in the parking areas and on the roads around Tokyo Disney Resort.
By Bus
There are train stations within the greater Tokyo area that offer bus shuttle services which head straight to Tokyo DisneySea. From Narita airport, you can board bus stop at bus stop #5 if you’re exiting from Terminal 1; if you’re exiting from Terminal 2, board at bus stop #12; if you’re exiting from Terminal 3, board from bus stop #6. If you’re coming from Haneda Airport, you can exit the International Terminal and board bus stop #5; if you’re coming from passenger terminal 1 or passenger terminal 2, you can board bus stop #6.
By Train
If you’re taking the train, get off Maihama Station at JR (Japan Railway) Keiyo Line or Musashino Line. It takes approximately 15 minutes to get to Maihama Station from Tokyo station.
Tokyo DisneySea Opening Hours

Tokyo DisneySea is open from 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM. However, take note that certain attractions or experiences may be closed even during operating hours due to the weather or other external circumstances. Stay updated with Tokyo DisneySea’s schedule of attractions and other announcements by checking the Tokyo DisneySea website all the time.
Where to buy Tokyo DisneySea Tickets
You can buy Tokyo DisneySea tickets online via the official Tokyo Disney Resort website, via the Tokyo Disney Resort app, in Disney hotels, convenience stores, or through travel agencies like KKDay.
