Maruzen and Junkudo is literally heaven for book lovers having seven floors of an eclectic range of books. It’s one of the biggest bookstores in Japan, and they carry a lot of interesting reads from fiction to academic, self-help, and most especially manga. Foreign tourists will surely find English-translated manga here, like the best-selling Spy X Family, Blue Lock, Jujutsu Kaisen, and more. It’s located near Umeda Station, so you can grab your favorite manga series here more conveniently!

Unlike the popular bookstore chains that sell brand-new books, BOOKOFF offers secondhand items to its customers. Expect lots of preloved items from toys to DVD movies, trading cards, video games, books, and assorted manga collections in this store. Anime lovers love to come to this place to buy classics such as the whole One Piece collection set. Not to mention, since everything’s secondhand in BOOKOFF, you get it for a lesser price compared to other bookstores!

Tsutaya Ebisubashi

Another bookstore to explore is Tsutaya Ebisubashi, the biggest Tsutaya branch in Western Japan. It’s a five-story bookstore that houses a variety of books and supplies. In the Basement level, you’ll find all sorts of comic books, CDs, Blu-Rays, and DVDs. Here’s where you can find your much-coveted English mangas, like Tokyo Revengers. Meanwhile, on the first and second floors, there’s a cafe where you can chill and read your newly purchased books. On the upper floor is where you can shop for cosmetics and other miscellaneous items.

Another store found in the anime haven Den Den Town is K-Books. They sell secondhand anime goods, so if you’re a fan searching for specific merch, add this store to your itinerary. Most of the stuff they sell is manga and not just any kind– it’s where you can shop hard-to-find manga selections that you probably wouldn’t see in commercial bookstores. Of course, they sell popular anime mangas such as Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Haikyuu, Detective Conan, Genshin Impact, Aikatsu, Project Sekai, and more. But aside from manga, they also sell anime figures, posters, stationeries, and other merchandise.
