Tourists flock to take cool photos walking along the inclined road for the ‘gram. The artwork shows a painting of the facade of Hong Kong tenements. It’s one of the most popular photo spots in Hong Kong, even getting the recognition of “The Instagram Wall.” It’s the work of artist Alex Croft called Yaumati, as the inspiration behind the iconic mural is the apartments of Yau Ma Tei in Kowloon Walled City.

Monster Building

It’s not a real-life monster, but when you see the buildings up close, you’d know why it’s named so–it’s tight and tall, as a cluster of five buildings create an enormous residential estate that feels like you’re inside a literal urban jungle. It’s been used as a filming site for many foreign films, and many people come here to take photos of this iconic spot. But since it’s a residential area, you have to be very mindful of your noise and actions which can disturb the residents.
