Best Shopping in Pattaya

A two hour journey from Bangkok, Pattaya is a beachside resort town whose popularity just keeps growing year on year. It’s a town with a little something for everybody, from beaches and water-sports to temples and bars. Pattaya’s range of shopping options, malls and markets are also a great spot to dig for souvenirs, top brands and cheap merchandise. There’s great deals to be found too, especially if you’re willing to negotiate with the vendors.

Despite it’s name, Pattaya Night Bazaar is actually open for most of the day, from 10 AM to 11 PM. It is also a covered, air-conditioned market bringing a welcome relief from the other swelteringly hot street markets. On offer at Pattaya Night Bazaar is a large assortment of clothes, accessories, bags, household goods and souvenirs, the bazaar is also home to more tailor shops than anywhere in Pattaya. Prices are low and can be haggled over, as expected, there are many counterfeit goods for sale here and quality of the items vary significantly so check your goods before purchasing.

If you’re looking for something with a very different feeling, try taking a trip to Mimosa Pattaya. A recreation of the French city of Colmar. The unmissable bright and colorful renaissance style buildings, charming squares, pathways and canals certainly give Mimosa Pattaya a classic European flavor. Inside these adorable buildings are a host of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars serving a range of international and local cuisine.

The center of the mall has a musical fountain which is also doubles as a performance stage for dancers and there is even an children’s amusement park, with a petting zoo and rides. There is an entrance fee to come to Mimosa Pattaya and it’s probably not the top place to find a bargain, it is a nice change of pace though, and makes a really fun day out for the family.

Floating Market

A recreation of a classic Thai riverside market and supposedly the largest man-made floating market in the world, Pattaya’s floating market is a must-visit attraction for visitors. Cafe’s, restaurants and shops sell souvenirs, clothes and accessories but one of the top highlights is certainly grabbing a snack from a riverside vendor, in their boat, selling goodies such as Thai milk tea or even a skewer of barbecued crocodile!
