Each year, K-Pop fans eagerly anticipate the annual year-end festivals and awards. At the Korean Award Shows 2022, expect the return of live broadcasts with in-person audiences. There will be music performances by the biggest names in the music scene. Tickets are usually balloted through a computerised system. However, there is a limited number of tickets allocated to foreigners that can be purchased via tour packages. Each broadcaster has separate award shows for music and entertainment.
KBS K-Pop Festival
This year, the KBS Gayo Daechukje (KBS Song Festival) will be hosted by prominent MCs Kim Seon-yeong, Na In-woo and Jang Won-young. On the line-up are groups that have won first place on KBS Music Bank. These groups include Stray Kids, Le Sserafim and the hottest rookie group of the year, New Jeans.

KBS Entertainment Awards
This year, the MCs for the KBS Entertainment Awards are Chani from SF9, Seol In Ah and Moon Se Yoon (last year’s Grand Prize winner). Additionally, confirmed award presenters include Lee Ha Na (Three Bold Siblings), Yaongyi (Webtoon Author of True Beauty) as well as BIG Naughty.
There is much to look forward to in the highly competitive category of Viewers’ Choice for Best Program. In this category, the winner is determined through votes. This year’s nominees are “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4,” “Immortal Songs,” “National Singing Contest,” “Fun-staurant,” and “Boss in the Mirror.”

SBS Music Festival
The SBS Gayo Daejeon will be broadcast live and hosted by MCs Cha Eun-Woo (ASTRO) and Yujin (IVE). As with previous years, K-Pop artistes who won first place on SBS Inkigayo until November 2022 will perform onstage.
On the first lineup are Stray Kids, ATEEZ, aespa, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPHEN and Le Sserafim.

SBS Drama Awards
MCs Shin Dong-yup as well as Kim Se-jeong and Ahn Hyo-seop, the main leads from “Business Proposal”, will be in-charge of hosting SBS’s Drama Awards. The duo is predicted to win the Grand Prize at this year’s awards due to their sweet chemistry in the drama. In addition, it scored a high viewership of 14.1% and peaked at #2 on the world streaming rankings.
That’s not to say that they’re without competitors. There’s Seo Hyun-jin (Why Her), who is a nominee for Best Actress for her role in the revenge-legal series. Namgoong Min, the Grand Prize winner last year, is also in the running for the Grand Prize this year.

MBC Music Festival
The same MCs from last year will return to host this year’s awards – Lee Jun-ho (2PM), YoonA (Girls’ Generation) and Jang Sung Kyu. Fun fact: YoonA has been hosting the MBC Music Festival for eight years straight! What’s more, both YoonA and Junho will be starring in a new drama “King the Land”.

MBC Drama Awards
On December 7, the upcoming award show announced that Girls’ Generation Sooyoung and Kim Sung Joo will MC this year’s event.
The 2022 MBC Drama Awards will celebrate this year’s releases of dramas. Various works and actors from the dramas “Tracer,” “Tomorrow,” “Dr. Royer,” “Big Mouse,” “Gold Spoon” and “Send me a fan letter,” a “War of Stars” are expected to attend the award show.
