Greem Cafe

Enter a two-dimensional world when you visit Greem Cafe in Seoul! This 2D-themed cafe feels like you’re in a monochromatic comic book from ceiling to floor. If you’ve watched the Korean webtoon series W, it’s where the cafe got the inspiration for its look. Pops of color arrive in the form of their cake slices and coffee concoctions.

Cafe Onion – Anguk

Cafe Onion has several branches around Seoul, but if you’re just around the Gyeongbokgung area, their Anguk branch is just within reach. This branch is known for its Hanok-themed concept, which is a traditional Korean house. Its exteriors are made with traditional hanok roofing, and the walls are made of sturdy wood. Inside, you can try their floor seating to complete the experience. The cafe serves pastries, coffee, and tea to guests.

Coffee Nap Roasters takes their coffee seriously, and indeed, their coffee is worth going here for. But what most people love about this small, minimalist cafe is its interiors, where they feature a 7,000-brick hill that’s actually where the customers sit. The idea behind this unconventional concept is that where you sit becomes your space, and it’ll give you different sceneries depending on where you are.

How to get here: From Hongik University, walk for about 10 minutes going to Donggyo-ro-Sageori. Take the bus and drop off at Gyeongsong Middle and High School. From there, walk for about two minutes going to Coffee Nap Roasters. 

 

 

Thanks Nature Cafe

You’ve surely heard of dog and cat cafes, but have you ever been to a sheep cafe? If not, head on to Thanks Nature Cafe, where two cute and fluffy sheep welcome you inside. Here, you can enjoy their famous toast, waffles, and hot drinks, while you chill and play with the two friendly sheep roaming around. It’s the perfect place to just relax and take cute photos.

How to get here: From Hongdae University Station, get out of Exit 9. Walk straight until the cross junction then turn left. Walk for 5 minutes and find the cafe on your left in the basement. 

 

 

Pink Pool Cafe

One of the prettiest cafes in Seoul is the trendy Pink Pool Cafe. From the name itself, you’ll know that the cafe is filled with all things girly, cute, and pink. This hip and trendy cafe is found on the fifth floor of Stylenanda Pink Hotel. They have the cutest pool-themed interior, from the tile walls up to the beach umbrellas. There’s also another Pink Pool Cafe in the Stylenanda store in Hongdae, which is more spacious.

How to get here: At the Myeongdong Station Exit 6 turn left, walk straight, and turn right at the second intersection. Walk for 30 minutes and you’ll find Stylenanda Pink Hotel on the right.
