Cable Cars

First of all, if you’re going to this island you have to go on the famous Langkawi Cable Car which will take you all the way up to Mount Mat Cincang, the second-highest peak on Langkawi. Admittedly cable cars are quite popular in Malaysia, but here in Langkawi Island, there is a little splash of magic involved. The route taken is none like any other, exposing you to the true beauty of the conserved rainforest, providing an angle perfect for new additions to your social media feed.

Sky Bridge

You can only access the Langkawi Sky Bridge after taking the Cable Car ride as it is located right at the end of it. The bridge itself is a curved architecture marvel above Mount Mat Cincang which guarantees a view that will take your breath away. Standing at an impressive 701 metres above sea level, you will have to pass the Oriental Village in the upper northwest of the island. It makes for a scenic walk that can be quite chilly so dress accordingly.

 

 

Gunung Raya

Gunung Raya is the tallest mountain on Langkawi Island and stands at 881 metres with a perfectly conserved dense forest full of wonderful wildlife. Hiking up this scenic giant means meeting many of nature’s children such as monkeys, squirrels, eagles, hornbills and even flying foxes. In addition to that, you will also have the chance to experience a local legend in real life! Apparently, the mountain is under the curse of a giant called Mat Raya, who once lived on the very ground you will trek; how exciting!

 

 

Crocodile Adventureland

The former Crocodile Farm (now renamed as Crocodile Adventureland) is located in the Teluk Datai Bay area at the north-western end of the island, known locally as Taman Buaya. The entire farm area is spread over some 20 acres of land, about half of which is open to tourists and visitors. The remainder is where croc cultivation takes place. Langkawi Wildlife Park

Alright guys, so the Langkawi Wildlife Park is a gem that has to be experienced first hand. Officially operating from 2002, it is a tropical paradise filled with more than 2500 exotic birds. Not only do they house 150 different species for you and your loved ones to gawk at. Some of the elegant birds you will see include canaries, eagles, owls, toucans, hornbills, and even the ever sophisticated flamingos! The birds fly freely in their enclosure and though daunting at first once you’ve situated yourself with them you will truly feel at peace.

 

 

Underwater World Langkawi

Taman Lagenda Langkawi

Right next to Kuah Jetty, you will find a beautifully landscaped folklore themed park that will inspire whimsical thoughts from anybody. Legenda Langkawi Dalam Taman was opened in 1996 and embraces the concept of an open-air garden museum that is so unique that you have to see it for yourself! There are legendary sculptures here actually, presenting 17 in total, you get to see a gorgeous depiction of the mysterious and tragic story of Mahsuri, a princess who was unfortunately wrongly executed. 

 

 

Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls

This waterfall is officially coined by locals as the most amazing natural attraction on the island. Located at the west of the highlands, the name itself means ’Seven Wells Waterfalls’ which refer to seven connected natural ponds fed by sect separate waterfalls in Mount Mat Cincang. Legends say that the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls are home to the magical creatures known as fairies.
