One of the best things about being a K-Drama fan is that you’ll never run out of shows to watch. There’s always more than enough upcoming South Korean dramas every month to add to your watch list that will keep your eyes glued to your screen. And this December, we are in for a big treat of highly-anticipated premieres from hallyu heavyweights like Ji Chang Wook, Kim Ji Won, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, and ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo—among many others.
Here, we list down eight K-Dramas to look forward to at the end of 2020:
Awaken
Starring: Nam Goong Min, Seol Hyun, Lee Chung Ah
Premiere: 30 November on tvN
In this murder mystery drama, a team leader of special task force Do Jung Woo (Nam Goong Min) and police officer Gong Hye Won (Seol Hyun) team up to uncover the mysteries that occurred in a village 28 years ago that are somehow linked with the cases happening in the present.
Cheat On Me If You Can
Starring: Cho Yeo Jeong, Go Jun
Premiere: 2 December on KBS2
This comedy-mystery thriller revolves around a best-selling murder mystery novelist and her husband, a divorce lawyer, who made a written promise that states, “If you cheat, you die.” Together (or apart) they weather through the adversities of married life.
City Couple’s Way of Love
Starring: Ji Chang Wook, Kim Ji Won, Kim Min Seok
Premiere: 8 December 2020 on KakaoTV
City Couple’s Way of Love gives viewers a glimpse into the lives of young adults fighting to survive in a hectic city. Park Jae Won (Ji Chang Wook), a passionate architect falls in love with a woman whom he calls the “camera thief” after a fateful encounter one summer night. Lee Eun Oh (Kim Ji Won) is a freelance marketer with a secret alter ego called Yoon Sun Ah. She mindlessly adopts her false identity and ends up falling in love.

True Beauty
Starring: Cha Eun Woo, Moon Ga Young, Hwang In Yeop
Premiere: 9 December on tvN
Based on a wildly popular webtoon of the same title, True Beauty deals with the standards and stereotypes of beauty. Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young) becomes the school’s goddess after mastering the art of makeup to deal with her insecurities about her appearance. But how long can she keep her real self a secret?
Hush

Journalists struggling as ordinary salary workers…this drama centers on unmotivated reporter Han Joon Hyuk (Hwang Jung Min) who lost his passion because of the harsh industry. Meanwhile, intern reporter Lee Ji Soo (YoonA) resolves to become a renowned reporter and gives it her all.
Mr. Queen
Starring: Shin Hae Sun, Kim Jung Hyun
Premiere: 12 December on tvN
A historical fusion drama, Mr. Queen follows the story of a modern man named Jang Bong Hwan whose soul gets trapped inside the body of Queen Kim So Yong (Shin Hae Sun) from the Joseon dynasty. Chaos ensues as he tries to return to the present time and avoids the advances of the smitten King Cheoljeong (Kim Jung Hyun).

Bringing a heart-fluttering romance this winter, Run On is about a man and a woman realizing personal growth as they enter each other’s lives. Ki Seon Gyeom (Im Si Wan), a national team sprinter, quits running and becomes a sports agent after a brush with a life-changing event. Meanwhile, Oh Mi Joo (Shin Se Kyung) leads an adventurous life as a foreign film translator.
Secret Royal Inspector
Starring: Kim Myung Soo, Kwon Nara, Lee Yi Kyung
Premiere: 21 December on KBS2
Set in the Joseon Dynasty, a secret royal inspector goes undercover to bring justice and take down corruption. The twist? The secret inspector named Song Yi Kyum (Kim Myung Soo) is an ordinary busuchan and a gambler by night assigned to work as a punishment. He carries out his new job with the help of Hong Da In (Kwon Na-Ra), a courtesan renowned for her beauty and courage.
