Tagaytay-Bound Travelers From Metro Manila Must Present Travel Pass

Taal Volcano

Following Tagaytay City’s reopening last week, Joint Task Force COVID Shield Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar announced on Monday that tourists coming from Metro Manila must present a travel pass to police officers at designated checkpoints.

At a press briefing, Eleazar clarified that only residents of Cavite can enter Tagaytay City without presenting a travel authority.

Other tourists, especially those coming from the National Capital Region (NCR), must be “APOR” or “Authorized Persons Outside of Residence” to be granted access to the city. These include Tagaytay workers residing in a different city or province.

According to Eleazar, only the National Task Force can change this rule, and until that happens, stringent measures will continue to be observed to ensure that only visitors with a valid reason to go to Tagaytay City will be allowed entry.

Meanwhile, local tourists and incoming authorized visitors will have to fill out health declaration forms when coming to Tagaytay City. Everyone is also expected to adhere to the rules set by the local government as an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the area such as wearing face masks and face shields, regular hand washing or sanitation, and practicing physical distancing.
