Following a period of closure to allow for the ease of contact tracing in the area, the renowned BenCab Museum in Baguio City reopens to the public today, 11 August.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the museum—which houses the art collection of National Artist for Visual Arts Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera—expressed how much it misses having guests visit its attractions, including the EcoTrail in the BenCab Farm&Garden as well as the scenic Café Sabel.
This announcement comes after Baguio City announced its plans to reopen its borders to tourists next month.
As the museum returns to operate, the management has imposed stringent measures to ensure the health and safety of every visitor and staff.
Guests are required to wear face masks at all times and are subject to temperature checks upon entry. They also have to fill out health declaration forms.
In a separate Facebook post, the management said, “We reserve the right to deny entry to any visitor who refuses to undertake these precautionary measures, shows signs of illness or has a temperature of 37.6ºC and above.”
To make physical distancing easier, the museum reduced its capacity by over 50% on a room-by-room basis. Group tours are also made temporarily unavailable.
As Baguio City observes General Community Quarantine, BenCab Museum will be open Tuesdays to Sundays, from 9 am to 4 pm. The museum will remain closed on Mondays.
