The Kitchens of Kings – From Agliè to Racconigi among flavors and Savoy Residences｜Italy

A day dedicated to the elegance of Savoy cuisine, among historic castles, ancient gastronomic traditions and court atmospheres immersed in the nature of Piedmont.
With a comfortable bus transfer departing from Turin, you will reach the magnificent Ducal Castle of Agliè, a residence beloved by the House of Savoy and famous for its refined rooms and large historic park. On a guided visit through the wonderfully frescoed halls and the beautiful gardens, you will discover stories and interesting facts about the daily life of the Piedmontese nobility and the art of entertaining, a fundamental element of court culture.
From aristocratic tables to grand royal receptions, the route will allow you to learn about the evolution of Piedmontese cuisine between the 17th and 19th centuries, when Turin became one of the European capitals of taste.
The day will continue with lunch at a typical Piedmontese restaurant, with a traditional menu including a starter, first or second course, water and coffee.
In the afternoon, a guided visit to the charming Borgo Castello della Mandria, to discover the delightful rooms of the Castle and the lovely outdoor park, and to the magnificent Royal Castle of Racconigi, one of the most fascinating residences of the royal family. A guided visit to discover the history of court cuisine, which is intertwined with that of the great hunting expeditions, the royal agricultural estates, and the sumptuous banquets organized for guests and dignitaries from all over Europe.
