Discover the very best of Mauritius on an unforgettable three-day journey combining breathtaking landscapes, fascinating history, rich culture, and an exciting ocean adventure.
Day 1 – Scenic South and Chamarel
Begin at Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcanic crater offering panoramic views over the central plateau and surrounding mountains. Continue to Mare aux Vacoas, the island’s largest freshwater reservoir, peacefully surrounded by dense forest.
Next, visit Grand Bassin, this sacred crater lake is one of Mauritius’ most important Hindu pilgrimage sites, featuring colourful temples. Travel through the lush landscapes of Black River Gorges National Park to admire Alexandra Falls, followed by a stop at the Black River Gorges Viewpoint for spectacular views over deep valleys, forest-covered mountains, and the distant coastline.
Continue to the charming village of Chamarel for lunch in a beautiful natural setting. Afterwards, choose one of the region’s popular attractions, such as the Seven Coloured Earth Geopark, Chamarel Waterfall, Ebony Forest, Curious Corner of Chamarel, or Lavilleon Adventure Park. Complete your day at Chamarel Viewpoint, overlooking the southwestern lagoon, Île aux Bénitiers, and Le Morne Brabant.
Day 2 – The North and Port Louis
Explore the cultural and historical treasures of northern Mauritius, beginning at the famous Red Roof Church in Cap Malheureux.
Continue to the SSR Botanical Garden, renowned for its giant water lilies, tropical trees, spice plants, and palm-lined avenues. You may also choose to visit one of the north’s popular attractions, including Château de Labourdonnais, L’Aventure du Sucre, or Odysseo Oceanarium.
Proceed to Port Louis, the lively capital of Mauritius. Visit Fort Adelaide for panoramic city and harbour views before discovering Aapravasi Ghat, a historic site connected to the arrival of indentured labourers. Explore Le Caudan Waterfront, browse locally made products at the Craft Market, and experience the colourful Central Market, filled with tropical fruits, spices, textiles, and traditional goods. You may also pass the historic Champ de Mars racecourse.
Day 3 – Dolphin and Island Adventure
Set off by speedboat from the west coast for an exciting dolphin-watching experience near Tamarin Bay or Rivière Noire. Observe dolphins swimming freely in their natural environment while following the crew’s safety and conservation instructions. As dolphins are wild animals, sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Cruise across the turquoise lagoon to Crystal Rock, an iconic coral formation surrounded by clear, shallow water and magnificent views of Le Morne Brabant. Continue to Île aux Bénitiers, where you can relax on the beach, swim in the lagoon, and enjoy the peaceful tropical surroundings. A delicious lunch and refreshing drinks will be served before your return journey along the beautiful western coastline.
