A workshop where you can create and take home your very own interior bonsai. The venue is located in Katsura, close to the central Kyoto district of Karasuma and the tourist destination of Arashiyama. No prior bonsai knowledge is required; we will gently teach you everything from the basics of bonsai to how to create your own interior bonsai. Using a vessel by a contemporary ceramic artist as a base, you will create your own unique Kyoto landscape using materials such as dried natural wood, stones, moss, and sand. The navigator for this workshop is a professional gardener who has worked on numerous gardens in Kyoto. Based on how to view and create landscapes, we will help you incorporate these elements into your interior bonsai. Interior bonsai adapts the philosophy of traditional bonsai to a modern lifestyle. The workshop venue is not a traditional Japanese room. It takes place in a modern space where beauty, detail, and design are part of daily life—a Kyoto hair salon.
