Come experience the original dolphin and whale watching tour in Drake Bay, Costa Rica — a world-famous pelagic adventure led by a team with over 30 years of local expertise.
We have been featured on National Geographic, Animal Planet, BBC, and Discovery Channel, and this is the only tour we offer, allowing us to specialize in creating meaningful, respectful encounters with marine life.
We are also the only operator in the area actively involved in marine research and conservation, contributing to efforts that helped establish this region as an Important Marine Mammal Area (IMMA). Our tours are guided by experienced naturalists and marine biologists, offering a unique educational perspective alongside the adventure.
Meet your expert guide and board the boat as we head into the rich offshore waters of the Osa Peninsula, one of the most biologically intense marine environments on Earth.
These warm tropical waters are home to dolphins and whales year-round. You may encounter mega pods of pantropical spotted dolphins, as well as bottlenose, spinner, common, and rough-toothed dolphins. Seasonal visitors and rare species also pass through these productive waters.
In addition to dolphins, keep an eye out for humpback whales, sea turtles, manta rays, and other pelagic wildlife. During peak whale season (late July through October), we often encounter humpback whales nearshore and around Caño Island, frequently accompanied by their calves.
Unlike crowded or rushed tours, our approach is guided by nature. Encounters are never forced — we allow dolphins and whales to choose to interact. This often leads to unforgettable moments as they swim alongside the boat, ride the bow wave, or leap into the air. It is not uncommon to witness dolphins and whales interacting with each other.
This is more than a tour — it is an authentic connection with the ocean, guided by experience, respect, and a deep passion for the marine world.
