Product Info

Delve into the heart of one of Madagascar's oldest and most fascinating natural sanctuaries. Created in 1958, the Montagne d'Ambre National Park is a striking climatic anomaly: an isolated volcanic massif rising to a height of 1,475 meters, enveloped in a dense, lush jungle. A true "water tower" of the Northern Region, this oasis of tropical rainforest captures generous rainfall, in stark contrast to the dry and arid savannas that stretch out at its feet.

Your adventure begins with a scenic route from Diégo-Suarez to the charming colonial village of Joffreville, the gateway to this green paradise. From your first steps under the canopy, the coolness of the altitude and the scents of the moist earth envelop you. Accompanied by an expert local live guide, you will walk along marked and accessible trails, adapted to your walking pace.

The park is world-renowned for its exceptional rate of endemism. Keep your eyes peeled: Montagne d'Ambre is home to seven species of lemurs, including the crowned lemur and Sanford's lemur, which you will easily spot jumping from branch to branch. It is also the realm of camouflage. Your live guide will find the incredible Brookesia micra for you, one of the smallest chameleons on the planet, no bigger than a fingernail, as well as the flat-tailed gecko (Uroplatus), which literally blends into the bark of the trees.

As your hiking tour progresses, the murmur of the water becomes more and more intense. The park is home to beautiful crater lakes and sacred waterfalls. You will make a spectacular stop in front of the Great Waterfall (80-meter drop) or the Sacred Waterfall, places steeped in mysticism where local culture still worships ancestors through ancestral "fady" (taboos).

In the middle of this day of exploration, enjoy a well-deserved break to savor a delicious, carefully prepared picnic lunch. Sitting in a specially prepared area in the middle of nature, to the sound of birds and waterfalls, you will taste local flavors and seasonal tropical fruits for a truly immersive experience.

Whether you are a photography enthusiast, a botany lover, or simply looking for a complete escape in the heart of nature, this all-inclusive day trip offers you an unforgettable immersion in the most precious aspects of Madagascar's biodiversity. Leave with lifelong souvenirs and the feeling of having explored a world apart.
