Product Info

Join me for a relaxed and engaging walking tour through Chișinău, where Soviet history meets modern city life paired with local wine.

We begin at the Monument of Stephen the Great with a first glass of wine, where you’ll learn about Moldova’s national hero, his “saint” status, and why he appears on every banknote.

From there, we stroll along the Alley of Classics for a second glass, discovering Moldova’s literary figures, their fascinating personal stories, and why Alexander Pushkin has a special place here. We continue onto one of the city’s most beautiful streets, where I’ll point out museums, restaurants, and hidden gems you can explore later.

As we move deeper into the city, you’ll hear stories about Queen Maria and the legacy of mayor Carol Schmidt, before reaching the core of Chișinău’s Soviet past. The Parliament, Presidency, and Government buildings you see today were all constructed during the Soviet era—symbols of power that still shape the country’s identity. I’ll also explain the events of the 2009 protests and the controversial reconstruction that followed.

We’ll pass by the National Museum of History, originally developed and significantly renovated during Soviet times, reflecting how history itself was curated and presented in that period.

We finish the experience with a final glass of wine, along with insider tips on the best restaurants, must-visit wineries, and nightlife spots—so you can continue discovering Moldova like a local.
