Product Info

Begin your journey into Singapore’s rich Peranakan culture with a private visit to The Intan, a multiple award-winning home museum. Guided by Alvin Yapp, the owner and curator, you’ll be immersed in the captivating world of the Peranakans—a unique community born from the blending of Chinese and Malay traditions in the early colonial era.

Admire the museum’s extensive collection of intricate antiques, textiles, and everyday objects, each with its own story, as Alvin brings the vibrant customs and history of the Peranakans to life through engaging storytelling.

After exploring the museum’s treasures, settle in for an authentic Peranakan dining experience. Enjoy a beautifully presented seven-course Nyonya meal, featuring a platter of seven quintessential mains served with steaming white rice and the signature indigo blue of Bunga Telang (Butterfly Blue Pea).

Dishes may include specialties such as ayam buah keluak (chicken with black nut), babi pongteh (braised pork), chap chye (mixed vegetables), and kueh salat (coconut custard dessert), all reflecting the rich flavors and culinary heritage of the Peranakan community. Filtered water is provided, and you are welcome to bring your own wine for a corkage fee.

The experience concludes at The Intan, leaving you with a deeper appreciation for Peranakan culture and a memorable taste of Singapore’s diverse heritage. You are free to continue exploring the area or return at your leisure.
