- Drift ice is a natural phenomenon. Depending on weather conditions (tides, wind direction, etc.) on the day of your trip, you may not be able to see it. Additionally, the icebreaker ship may be suspended due to ice conditions or weather. Even if the ship departs, you may not be able to see drift ice due to tides or wind direction.
