Currently, visitors are generally not allowed to climb the Pyramids of the Sun or the Moon at Teotihuacan due to preservation efforts. The Teotihuacan ruins hold immense historical significance as one of the largest and most powerful pre-Aztec cities in Mesoamerica, flourishing between 1st and 7th centuries AD. The site showcases impressive urban planning, monumental architecture like the pyramids, and advanced artistic and engineering skills, making it a crucial archaeological site for understanding ancient civilizations.
The Teotihuacan archaeological site can be visited in several ways. Many opt for organized tours from Mexico City, which often include round-trip transportation and a guide. For a unique perspective, combining a visit with a hot air balloon experience is highly recommended. These combined tours typically start with an early morning balloon flight, followed by breakfast and then an opportunity to explore the ruins. Options vary from guided tours to free exploration plans, allowing visitors to choose based on their budget and style.
