The Dominican Republic's Anamuya Mountains will be your stunning backdrop for this culture-packed tour. There'll be a long list of things to tick off, including a sugar cane plantation tour, horse riding, coffee tasting, a delicious typical lunch at a mountain ranch and a visit to Higuey Basilica.

Kick things off at the sugar cane farm, and you'll mix with local plantation workers at a settlement known as a batey. After gaining an insight into making local rum, you'll hit the saddle for a 20-minute horseback ride. Admiring the countryside from a different angle, a Cuba Libre drink will be prepared for you to sip on as you gaze out over the River Anamuya.

Drop by a country house to taste coffee, fruits and chocolate, then see how cigars are made in a tobacco field. After a buffet lunch atop Mt Anamuya, there's a drive through Higuey, and a final stop at the futuristic Altagracia Basilica.
